Defense Ministry's Air Medical Evacuation Aircraft Support Hajj Operations
The Ministry of Defense’s air medical evacuation aircraft are actively supporting the medical plan for the 1446 AH Hajj season by providing advanced ambulance services and transporting emergency medical cases from the holy sites to hospitals and healthcare facilities within and outside Makkah. This operation is part of the comprehensive logistical and medical support system managed by the Ministry of Defense’s health services in coordination with the Ministry of Health.
These air medical evacuation aircraft play a pivotal role in ensuring rapid response and immediate care for critical cases. Specialized medical teams operate continuously aboard these aircraft, equipped with advanced mobile medical equipment that provides capabilities similar to those of intensive care units.
This participation enhances the readiness of the healthcare system during the Hajj season by facilitating medical support and safe evacuation for cases requiring transfer from Mina, Arafat, or Muzdalifah to referral hospitals, thereby improving the quality of healthcare provided to pilgrims.
