Jazan's Rose Cities: A Promising Investment Supporting Sustainable Development
Jazan Region stands out as one of the most promising regions in green economy applications, given its natural and agricultural assets, which enhance investment opportunities in natural products and related processing industries.
Jazan jasmine is one of the region's most prominent symbols of beauty, used in making floral garlands worn by men and women at social occasions, with daily demand in traditional markets serving as an income source for families working in the cottage industry.
According to Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Communication at Saudi Reef Majed Al-Buraikan, the jasmine and aromatic plant cities aim to develop the sector, improve production efficiency, and enhance the livelihoods of small farmers.
Al-Buraikan stated that projects in Ahad Al Masarihah Governorate cover around 65,000 hectares with more than 26,000 trees producing over 156,000 kilograms annually, alongside a nursery covering 132,000 hectares with more than 52,800 trees and an annual production capacity of 317,000 kilograms.
The sector is expected to witness accelerating growth in the coming years, reinforcing Jazan's status as a leading regional center in sustainability and the green economy, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
