MWL Condemns Legislation Allowing Death Penalty in Occupied West Bank

The Muslim World League (MWL) condemned the enactment by Israeli authorities of a law, approved by the Knesset, authorizing the imposition of the death penalty in the occupied West Bank, to be applied in a discriminatory manner against Palestinians.

 In a statement, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa denounced the legislation as a continued disregard for the lives, dignity, and rights of the Palestinian people through repression and racial discrimination, in addition to inhumane practices against Palestinian detainees.

 He affirmed the MWL’s support for the positions issued by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates in this regard.
